According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 1 p.m. on U.S. 281 north of FM 1017. Investigators reported that Robert’s vehicle left the roadway near an overpass, entered the median, and after an overcorrection struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle then went airborne at the entrance of the overpass before coming to rest in the southbound grassy area near the frontage road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
