David Guenther Dies After Motorcycle Crash on Club Springs Road in Smith County
David Guenther died following a serious motorcycle crash involving a passenger vehicle Monday afternoon in Smith County, according to local emergency officials.
The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. along Club Springs Road near Carthage, prompting a large emergency response from the Smith County Rescue Squad
and other first responders.
Rescue personnel said emergency medical crews immediately began providing life-saving treatment to the injured motorcyclist at the scene following the collision with a car.
Due to the severity of his injuries, responders transported Guenther to a landing zone established at the boat ramp in Stonewall, where the Gordonsville Fire Department assisted crews in preparing for an air medical evacuation.
A medical helicopter then flew Guenther to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Despite extensive lifesaving efforts by first responders and hospital staff, Guenther later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision, including how the crash occurred or whether any charges are expected.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the fatal motorcycle crash.
Following the tragedy, the Smith County Rescue Squad asked the community to keep Guenther’s family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
