Shooting Incident at Montgomery County Courthouse Leaves Two Injured After Livestreamer Clash
A confrontation at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville escalated into gunfire during a debt-related hearing involving 28-year-old livestreamer Dalton Eatherly, known online as “ChudTheBuilder,” leaving two people hospitalized, including Eatherly himself.
According to authorities, the incident unfolded when Eatherly was inside the courthouse for a civil debt hearing. During the encounter, he reportedly asked a man present if he was going to “chimp out,” a remark that quickly escalated tensions in the room. The comment allegedly provoked an immediate physical response from the man, who struck Eatherly with a punch.
Investigators say the situation rapidly escalated following the physical altercation. Eatherly then drew a firearm and fired multiple shots inside or near the courthouse area. In the chaotic exchange, he sustained a graze wound to his own arm. One of the rounds struck 31-year-old Army veteran Joshua Fox, hitting him in both the shoulder and stomach.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, providing medical assistance before transporting both Eatherly and Fox to nearby hospitals. Officials confirmed that both individuals were listed in stable condition following treatment, though the full extent of their injuries has not been publicly detailed.
Law enforcement secured the courthouse area shortly after the shooting, with proceedings suspended as investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Authorities have not indicated an ongoing threat to the public but described the incident as highly volatile and under active investigation.
The confrontation has drawn significant attention due to its setting inside a courthouse and the rapid escalation from verbal exchange to gunfire. Officials continue to piece together the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
